Professional Experience: Commissioner Strickland is a retired Chief Air Traffic Controller of the U.S. Navy having served from 1960-1980. He is a retired Glynn County Police Department Captain where he worked for more than 28 years, five of those as Glynn County Emergency Management Director.

Civic and Community Service: Glynn County Animal Services Advisory Board (2002-2010); President Glynn County Local Emergency Planning Committee (2006-2008); President Area 5 Emergency Management Directors (2007-2008); President Southern Landing POA (2005-2007).

Government Experience: Employed by Glynn County for 28 1/2 years.

Education: Attended Brunswick Junior College (1983-1986); Certificate in Marketing and Management- Brunswick Junior College

Personal: Born in San Antonio, Texas. Commissioner Strickland is married to his wife, Donna and has 6 children, 9 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
